Admissions Process for Reception
All children start school in the September of the school year in which they are five
The school does not have a catchment area – places are allocated by the LA according to the school’s admission criteria, as follows:
- Children in Local Authority Care
- Current Family Association – Sibling in Chislet C.E. Primary School at time of entry. (Sibling is children who live as brother and sister in the same house, including natural brothers or sisters, adopted siblings, stepbrothers or sisters and foster brothers or sisters. This does not include cousins)
- Health and Special Access reasons
- Nearness of children’s homes
You can register your interest in the school by contacting the school office where contact details will be taken and kept on file. No priority is given to early applications.
By having your child’s details on file we are able to send you the Admissions Information when we receive it from the LA (Local Authority) .
RCAF (Reception Common Application Form)should be completed and returned to the school, or completed online by the date stated, usually in January.
At the end of March parents are informed by the LA which school their child has been allocated.
Please note: all dates are set by the LA and may differ from those shown.
